The MAS program supports GSA’s federal marketplace strategy, to modernize and streamline the buying and selling process for U.S. government agencies and private businesses. For private industry, the program provides a direct link to government contractors. It also saves time for both stakeholders by eliminating due diligence and price, delivery and other negotiations and offering a simplified process. The application process to be awarded a GSA Schedule contract, which can extend for up to 20 years, is a rigorous one with vendors expected to prove sustainable financial health and past execution that meet the high standards of the General Services Administration.

They are one of the most popular government contract vehicles with approximately $36 billion procured through the program each year. GSA Schedule holders are also provided access to exclusive GSA systems such as GSA eBUy and GSA Advantage which are used heavily by federal buyers. According to gsamagazine.com, the average small business with a GSA Schedule experienced a 7.9% increase in revenue with those with 8(a) certification experiencing over 20% growth.
